Love, Power and Hypocrisy.
In the Scriptures, Jesus talked much about love. Love for God, love for people, love for those in need of help, and even love for your enemy. Jesus also talked about power. He talked about God’s power. He also cautioned us about the abuse of power. Even though this is rarely mentioned Jesus also talked about…..
HYPOCRISY!!! Yes, Jesus talked about hypocrisy. As Jesus does so, we know he is talking about us and how there are times when we say one thing and do another. We are all guilty of that. Jesus sites those who stand on the corners praying trying to attract attention to themselves.
He confronts his disciples, particularly Peter and Judas, and proclaims we are to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Jesus calls us to be his disciples and says hypocrisy is out of bounds. For sure, Jesus forgives those sins, and calls us to a higher calling.
In our political climate today, we cannot help but see hypocrisy. It is all over the place. It has happened on both sides if we are honest about it. I believe those who support Trump can smell it like a rat. It bothers us greatly that those who support Biden, use hypocrisy as a lifeline. It is their bloodstream. It is what gives them life and hope for tomorrow.
The problem with hypocrisy is that it is so shallow. It cannot hold water; it cannot hold the truth. When hypocrisy gives you life, there is a problem when the truth is known, for then you must backpedal and end up telling another lie, anything but the truth.
The left will try to attract your attention with flags and red, white, and blue, fooling you that it is an article about your side, but all it is, is a tirade about Trump, which is full of untruths. We need to recognize it right away and not believe a word of it.
Rush would remind us today that as they try to describe Trump fans and how terrible they are, they are only telling the truth about themselves and who they really are. Their hope is to demoralize us and belittle us. Remind yourself that this hypocrisy is at its finest. They have truly mastered the art.
We are strong people. We can speak well about ourselves and each other. We can tell the truth without any hesitation for what is really going on. It is ok for us to point out their lies. When we do not, it appears we rubber stamp their ideas. Let us rise to the higher calling!
